Welder in a helmet and gloves welding steel with bright blue sparks flying

Structural steel and fabrication - Haverhill, MA

  • 24 ft hook height

What comes out of this shop

  1. Structural steel

Beams, columns, base plates, embeds and bracing, detailed from your drawings, drilled on the beam line and set by our own boom truck.

  2. Stairs, rails and platforms

Egress stairs, guardrail, ladders and mezzanines, fit up complete in the shop so site work is bolts and a level, not a grinder and an afternoon.

  3. Stainless and aluminum

TIG work for food plants, breweries and marine jobs. Polished where it shows, passivated where the inspector will ask.

  4. Breakdown and site repair

Two mobile rigs, insured for site work, out the door inside the hour when a dock leveller or a hopper tears out mid-shift.

Room and reach

Eighteen thousand square feet, and our own trucks

Two ten-ton cranes with twenty-four feet of hook height mean a forty-foot weldment stays in one piece from fit-up through paint. Nothing gets spliced because the shop ran out of headroom.

Three flatbeds and a knuckle-boom truck sit in the yard, so we deliver and set our own steel instead of waiting on a carrier who has never handled a stair stringer. When the schedule moves, we move with it rather than filing a change order about it.

What the people who hire us say (sample quotes)

  • ★★★★★

Ironvale fit up a mezzanine over an occupied warehouse on a four-day shutdown. Plumb, square, and their own boom truck set it, so I was not waiting on a crane subcontractor who does not answer the phone on a Saturday.

A dock leveller frame tore out on a Thursday night. Their rig was there by seven, cut it out, welded in new plate, and we shipped Friday morning. I do not want to know what that would have cost me in missed trucks.

They took my sketch off a legal pad, sent a drawing back for me to check, and built exactly that. Railings, gates and a canopy across three properties, all matching, and no surprises on the invoice.

Ray quoted in two days and told me straight which part of my design was going to be a problem before he built it. That is rarer than it ought to be.
