Stamped drawings are ideal. A napkin sketch with dimensions works. A photo of the thing that broke, with a tape measure held against it, works too.

Tell us where the work is and whether there is crane access, because that is usually the difference between a two-day job and a two-week one. If something is down right now, call the shop instead of typing.
