Things we build most weeks

Egress stairs and landings
Pan-filled or grating, with guardrail to code, fit up complete in the shop and delivered on our own flatbed.

Mezzanines and platforms
Columns, beams, deck framing and access, built to drawings your engineer stamps and erected by our crew.

Pipe and tube guardrail
Interior and exterior rail, galvanized or primed, radiused where it has to follow a curve.

Dock frames and bumpers
Leveller frames, angle, bollards and bumper plate, usually done overnight so the dock loads in the morning.

Machine bases and weldments
Heavy frames and skids, stress-relieved and machined flat through a partner shop when flatness is called out.

Gates, bollards and screens
Dumpster enclosures, rooftop screens and vehicle gates, hinged so they still swing in five years.
What the shop will take
If your piece is bigger than this, ask. The splice goes on the shop drawing before any steel is cut.
In the shop
- Floor
18,000 sq ft under roof, 60 x 300 ft clear span, plus a three-acre laydown yard.
- Cranes
Two 10-ton overhead cranes at 24 ft hook height, and a 5-ton jib over the fit-up table.
- Beam line
CNC drill line for beam and channel to 40 ft with coping. Layout comes off the model, not a tape measure.
- Plate and shape
6 x 12 ft CNC plasma table, 400-ton x 14 ft press brake, 1/2 in. x 10 ft shear, 18 in. band saw, ironworker.
- Welding
Twelve stations running MIG, flux-core, stick and TIG. Procedures qualified to AWS D1.1 and D1.6, welders tested on plate.
- Paint and prep
Blast and prime in house. Hot-dip galvanizing goes to a partner two towns over and adds about a week.
On the road
- Fleet
Three flatbeds to 48 ft, a 14-ton knuckle-boom truck, and two fully equipped mobile welding rigs.
- Site work
Erection, retrofits and breakdown repair. The crew that welded it is the crew that sets it.
- Insurance
General liability, umbrella and workers' compensation. A certificate naming your project goes out before anyone mobilizes.
- Reach
Essex County and the North Shore day in and day out; greater Boston and southern New Hampshire regularly.
Single pieces to 40 ft and 12 tons leave here whole. Beyond that we splice on site and show you the joint on the drawing first.
